Two cookies, no trackers, and what your browser keeps without ever sending it to us.
Two cookies, and no others. Neither is used for advertising, audience measurement or tracking between sites, because this site does none of those: there is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no cookie set by anybody but us.
buildcost_session: your session once you are signed in. Signed, `HttpOnly` and `SameSite=Lax`, so no script can read it and no other site can send it. It carries your account id and your plan, and nothing else. It goes when you sign out.
buildcost-city: the market and town you chose, in the form `cd:kolwezi`. It lasts a year and exists only so the site does not ask which town you are in on every visit. It contains nothing that identifies you.
A consent banner exists for the cookies you might want to refuse: advertising and audience measurement. We set none. The two above are strictly necessary to the service you asked for (signing you in, and showing you your own town’s prices), and on that basis need no prior consent.
If that changes, the banner will appear before the cookie does, not after. This page will change on the same day.
Most of what you type stays in your browser’s local storage and is never sent: your document letterhead (project name, client, site address), your unsaved costings, your issue numbering, and the state of your session as the interface displays it.
None of that is a cookie: it never travels with a request and we cannot read it. Clearing site data in your browser removes it for good, and a costing not saved to your account is then gone. That is exactly what saved costings exist for.
Your browser can block or delete this site’s cookies, and this page is not trying to talk you out of it. Just know what it costs: without `buildcost_session` you cannot stay signed in, and without `buildcost-city` the site will offer the country’s reference town on every visit. Everything else, estimating, measuring and exporting, carries on working.
